Discounts

How offer discounts work through Shopify Functions, and the limits you can set.

Offer discounts are applied by a Shopify Function on the cart. Customers do not enter a discount code. The price shown in the widget is the price charged at checkout.

Discount types

  • None: show the offer at full price.
  • Percentage: a percentage off the offered items.
  • Fixed amount: a set amount off the offered items.

Discount name

The name you give the discount appears on the discount line at checkout and on the order. Use something a customer will recognise, like the bundle name.

Compare-at prices

You can show or hide the original price next to the discounted one. Showing it makes the saving clear. Hiding it keeps a busy widget simpler.

Conditions and caps

  • Apply always, or only when the trigger product is in the cart (available on cart and product add-on offers).
  • Maximum discounted quantity: limits how many units get the discount, so bulk orders do not discount without a cap.
  • Apply to the trigger product as well as the add-ons (available on Frequently Bought Together, where the main product is part of the bundle).

Announcement bar codes

The announcement bar works differently. It does not apply a discount itself. Instead, it can show one of your existing Shopify discount codes for customers to use. Create the code in Shopify first, then attach it on the bar’s Discount tab.

Working with your other discounts

RevenueLift’s function-based discounts follow Shopify’s normal combination rules. If you already run automatic discounts or codes, test a real checkout before you publish the offer widely.
